For the most part, the street people are homeless or living in shelters when available because of economic conditions, alcohol and drug use and not mental illness. The faces and general condition of some of these people intrigue me. I see the despair and broken spirits in some of these people. Surprisingly, some are happy and thankful for what little they have. This must fall under the category of “indomitable spirit”. Hopefully this is conveyed in the photographs. We all lead fragile lives and anyone of us can end up with nothing.
